Born and raised in Rolesville, North Carolina, Cliff was surrounded by traditional country and bluegrass music. As a child, most of his summers were spent attending bluegrass festivals with his parents, and from there his musical ambitions grew. Cliff’s musical journey began by playing in several bluegrass bands, including The Hagar’s Mountain Boys, recording 2 albums (2005-2009) before pursuing his solo career. Cliff’s passion for country music and Songwriting led to the release of his first solo Christian country album in 2016, containing 3 singles released to radio which all appeared in the top 10 on various charts including Powersource Nashville, and Cashbox Magazine. His first single release titled “The Church Pew”, gained him worldwide accreditation for his songwriting and modern day traditional country tone. Cliff's original, “That’s What I Keep My Bible For” is his first top 5 single appearing on Cashbox Magazine and Powersource Nashville charts. Cliff’s songwriting and vocal talents led to his 2018 and 2019 ICGMA nominations for Horizon Male Vocalist, and Song of the Year for “That’s What I Keep My Bible For”. Cliff is now an active performing artist in Nashville, TN and recorded his EP, “A Six-Pack and a Sunday”, in 2021 with award winning producers Buddy Hyatt and James Payne. In 2022, Cliff teamed up with his friends of many years, The Roxboro Connection and recorded a new bluegrass album of which 4 songs have charted on various Bluegrass charts, including his 2nd Top 5 as a writer with “Good Mornin To The Lord” reaching #5 for July 2023. Cliff is currently writing his newest album with Willie Vanhook of the Mark Chesnut band, also being produced by Vanhook. That project will be released in the fall of 2023 and will contain all original material, with the exception of bringing life to Gary Stewart’s classic country hit, “An Empty Glass” with a modern production in an effort to keep the classics alive and well!!
